Reolink cameras
with LookoutNVR.

Field-proven on the RLC-520A and RLC-520 PoE cameras at a home.

Stream addresses

Lookout reads these from the camera itself over ONVIF. Type one in only when ONVIF is off. Put the camera's user name, password and address in place of user, password and camera-address.

Main streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/Preview_01_main
Second streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/Preview_01_sub
RTSP port554
ONVIFSwitch it on in the camera's settings
DVR and NVR channels/Preview_<NN>_main|sub

RTSP and ONVIF are off by default on most models: switch them on in port settings. Older form /h264Preview_01_main; /h265Preview_01_main on 4K H.265 models. Battery cameras excluded.

Before you add it

  • On many models RTSP, ONVIF and HTTP are off by default. Switch RTSP on under Network, Advanced, Port Settings (port 554). ONVIF uses port 8000.
  • Main stream is /Preview_01_main and sub-stream /Preview_01_sub. Older firmware also answers /h264Preview_01_main.
  • Use an admin account, and keep the password to letters, digits and @$*~_-+=!?.,:; so it survives inside a stream address.
  • Battery and 4G cameras have no RTSP of their own. They need a Reolink Home Hub or NVR in front of them.
  • Port 9000 is Reolink's own app port, not RTSP. Lookout does not use it.
  • Switch on RTSP or ONVIF in the camera's settings if it ships with them off, and make a user for Lookout.
  • Set the second stream to about 640 pixels wide in H.264. Lookout records the main stream and watches the second one.
  • Give the camera a fixed address and turn on NTP, so its clock is right.

The camera setup guide has the rest.
