The product
LookoutNVR is self-hosted network video recorder software. You install it on a computer you control. The Lookout phone and tablet app, and the desktop viewer, connect to that recorder so you can watch cameras, review events, and receive alerts.
Local recording, live view, and on-box detection do not require a Lookout Cloud account. Cloud is optional remote access and licensing.
The phone app
The app in the stores is a viewer. It does not record video on the phone. It does not create Lookout Cloud accounts. In-app purchases are not sold through this app.
You are responsible for the cameras, the recorder, and who you give a login. Use the product only where you have the right to record.
Accounts
A recorder user is created on your recorder, from the desktop app. A Lookout Cloud account is created on lookoutnvr.com. Close a Cloud account from Support.
Acceptable use
Do not use LookoutNVR to break the law, to watch people who have not agreed to be recorded where the law requires agreement, or to attack the Cloud relay or anyone else's recorder.
No warranty
The software is provided as is. A missed detection, a dropped recording, or a phone that did not buzz is not a promise we can make about a camera system. Check the cameras yourself when it matters.
