Free Tier License
LookoutNVR is free for personal and commercial use on any number of cameras. The software runs locally on your hardware. No account, no internet connection, and no license key required. You may install it on as many servers as you like.
Pro & Business Subscriptions
Cloud features (remote access, push notifications, multi-server dashboard) are billed annually. Pro ($48/yr) connects 1 server, Business ($199/yr) connects up to 5. The subscription covers all cameras on your cloud connected servers — no per-camera or per-channel fees. All paid plans are free through July 2026. Cancel anytime; local functionality continues to work.

Fair Use
Cloud relay is designed for interactive remote viewing, not 24/7 continuous streaming. We reserve the right to apply reasonable bandwidth limits to ensure service quality for all customers. Current fair-use limit: 500 GB/month for Pro, 2 TB/month for Business.

Is the free tier really unlimited cameras?
Yes. No camera count limit, no feature gates on local recording or AI detection. The free tier is a real product, not a trial with a timer.
How does the free trial work?
All paid plans are completely free through July 2026 — no credit card required. Sign up, connect your NVR, and get full cloud access. When the early access period ends, you can choose to subscribe or keep using the free local tier.
Is there a per-camera fee like other NVR software?
No. LookoutNVR has never charged per camera and we have no plans to. One price covers your whole system regardless of how many cameras you run.
Do I need a subscription to use AI detection?
No. AI detection runs locally on your GPU and is fully included in the free tier. You don't need Pro and you don't need internet access for detection to work.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your NVR keeps working — local recording, AI detection, everything. You only lose cloud relay access and push notifications. Nothing is deleted or locked out.
Can I manage multiple NVR servers from one place?
Yes — Business and Enterprise plans include a multi-site dashboard in the cloud portal. Connect up to 5 sites (Business) or 10+ (Enterprise) and manage them all from one login. View cameras, recordings, and events across all your sites. Your video stays on your servers — the cloud is just the remote control.
