Camera compatibility Supported

Uniarch cameras
with LookoutNVR.

Uniarch cameras run Uniview firmware, so they use the same stream addresses and settings. Supported through ONVIF and RTSP.

Stream addresses

Lookout reads these from the camera itself over ONVIF. Type one in only when ONVIF is off. Put the camera's user name, password and address in place of user, password and camera-address.

Uniarch

Main streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/media/video1
Second streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/media/video2
Third streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/media/video3
RTSP port554
ONVIFLookout tries it first, then the RTSP address
DVR and NVR channels/unicast/c{ch}/s{0|1}/live

Uniview's value brand.

Uniview

Main streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/media/video1
Second streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/media/video2
Third streamrtsp://user:password@camera-address/media/video3
RTSP port554
ONVIFLookout tries it first, then the RTSP address

On dual-lens models the second lens is /media2/video1 to 3.

Before you add it

  • On a camera, main stream is /media/video1 and sub-stream /media/video2.
  • On a Uniview NVR, channel 3 main is /unicast/c3/s0/live and its sub-stream /unicast/c3/s1/live.
  • The default user is admin. Sign-in uses HTTP digest.
  • Switch on RTSP or ONVIF in the camera's settings if it ships with them off, and make a user for Lookout.
  • Set the second stream to about 640 pixels wide in H.264. Lookout records the main stream and watches the second one.
  • Give the camera a fixed address and turn on NTP, so its clock is right.

The camera setup guide has the rest.

Same firmware

Uniarch runs Uniview firmware. These run the same firmware and use the same addresses: Uniview.

Where this comes from

Uniarch: the maker's documentation.

Uniview: the maker's documentation, not yet checked against the full cam.

Field-proven means it runs on one of our recorders at a real site today. Supported means it works through ONVIF or RTSP. Brand names belong to their owners.
